The Port Observer
is forming an Executive Board to assist in the publication process,
including, contributing articles and editorial material for
publication to hard copy and our website. Additional Board function
will be to monitor Port of Seattle decisions on major policy issues ,
deliberate the issue and submit a written "Shadow Opinion" for
publication. All board members will have access to our growing database
of Port related material. Applications and interviews will be accepted
through 2007. All Board positions are voluntary and no compensation is
provided.
Who can Join
Anyone can join the Port Observer
Executive Board. Board candidates should have a good understanding of
journalism, government process and social, economic and environmental
justice. First hand experience of Port activity including having been
employed at a Port, doing business with Ports, engaged in
environmental/social/business pursuit of Ports and or other government
agencies and port related, citizen activities, would be a plus. We are
interested in developing a diverse Board of intellectual activists who
are dedicated to the promotion of free press for the purpose of
education and understanding.
